Velofahren auf Arran

Link to photos first ;-)

Decided yesterday that would stay at least another night at the same campsite as didn’t want to take tent down and put it up again. Meant that I was going to cycle around the island in one day instead of taking it slowly and doing it in two days with camping somewhere inbetween.

Set the alarm to 5.45 again as sunrise was at 6. But was dark at six and very windy. So stayed in tent until 8. And started cycling at 9. First to Lamlash and then Whiting Bay where I had a break. In ??? went to see the cheese company. But couldn’t see anything in their showroom and so bought a Dunlop cheddar instead. Soon thereafter jumped into cow field and had lunch and was reading The Herald. Nothing exciting has happened ;-) Apart from some flooding and landslides.

Just as I was packing my bags again another cyclist was passing by and as I had been cycling alone until then hurried up and caught up with him soon and cycled the rest of the day together. Was an old guy. White hair, no hair. Was good to cycle together. He had a puncture but just changed the tubes so didn’t take long. Head headwind all the way from Blackwaterfoot (what a funny name for a village) to Lochranza. 13 miles. There went to cafe and then the only real hill of the day. Down to Corrie and soon thereafter back in Brodick.

Was exactly 120.40 Raphys around the island which translates into 57 miles and about 100 kilometers. And had a bit more then 4 hours. My thighs didn’t like it too much, especially after the walking yesterday. Now need to go for a massive shit. so goodbye.
